On Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 3:00 pm, the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Family Concert at Central Bucks High School East. Music Director Gary S. Fagin has chosen the theme “Roosters, Elephants, Bees, Fish, Cats, Birds, Wolves, and a special Berenstain Bear—Oh, My!”
The Orchestra will perform selections from Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Golden Rooster and Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals; The Flight of the Bumblebee; and Peter and the Wolf, narrated by noted children’s author Mike Berenstain. According to Mr. Berenstain, he and his family “have always been devoted classical music enthusiasts. Peter and the Wolf was a favorite of mine growing up. I very much support programs that bring classical music to children.”
Featured guest ensembles are the Tamanend Middle School Chieftain Chorus, directed by Ian Sanchez, and the Jamison Elementary Chorus, directed by Elaine Copeland.
The BCSO is also pleased to present its 2015 Youth Concerto Competition winner, Zachary Fung, who will play the first movement of Lalo’s Cello Concerto in D Minor with the Orchestra.
