Braden Ellis Youth Competition Winner

Braden Ellis, a double bass player, is a member of the Delaware County Youth Orchestra and studies with Joanne Bates. He has been the principal bassist in three of Temple University’s Center for Gifted Young Musician’s orchestras, and played in the PRYSM youth Orchestra under the direction of Willian DePasquale. At Temple, he was the recipient of the Loeb Performing Arts Fund Scholarship. He also sang in Settlement Music School’s Gleeksman-Kohn Children’s Choir for two years.
Braden is a 2013 cohort member of A Better Chance and will attend The Shipley School in 2014. He is a Science Explorer’s teacher’s assistant, where he helps K-4 students at New Eagle Elementary School explore science projects. He takes Mandarin lessons at Great Wall Chinese School in Rosemont, Pa. Braden also enjoys sports and fences epee with the Peter Westbrook Foundation in New York City. He enjoys reading, programming, soldering electronics, and attends summer camp at Luzerne Music Center.
